Via science Alert, This mind-boggling formation is called The Wave, in Paria Canyon, Arizona. It was formed over 190 million years during the Jurassic period, when the Navajo sandstone dunes calcified into rock. Thousands of years of wind and water erosion smoothed it down, and iron oxides were blended through to create the pinkish hue.
